Samsung went all in on AI for its Galaxy S24 range earlier this year, and now it’s doing the same in the kitchen.

With its 2024 range of built-in kitchen appliances, Samsung has leant heavily into its connected living through SmartThings, and augmented that with cameras and smart automation technology to help it stand apart.

From ovens to induction cooktops to rangehoods, Samsung has connected everything and is hoping to use software to make your life easier in the kitchen.

Built-in AI

There are two core functions that Samsung is leaning into this year: Wi-Fi connectivity and AI cameras.

While Wi-Fi connectivity isn’t exactly new in the kitchen, Samsung’s leveraging its SmartThings app to help make the integration between appliance and smart device seamless.

You can pre-heat your oven remotely, or control all the settings from the couch without having to get up.

AI cameras, meanwhile, only appear in the flagship 6 Series AI Oven Flex door, and gives budding chefs and home cooks the ability to see inside the oven while it’s on.

You can turn your meal into a social media post from the oven itself, with a highlight video of the cooking process automatically created.

It can also recognise when things start to go wrong, and warn you before you burn your meatloaf or brownies.

Samsung has also launched Samsung Food, a personalised AI food app that offers over 160,000 recipes and cen help you meal plan, order ingredients online and offers guided cooking experiences with connected Samsung appliances.
