About BTTR

For over 20 years, BTTR founder and editor Nick Broughall has been reviewing products professionally. With BTTR, he is trying to leverage that experience to create a destination for Australian shoppers to buy better through top reviews.

We do the hard work for you, researching and testing the latest products to ensure you buy better every time.

Our History

In the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns across Australia, Nick was employed at comparison site Finder, leading the consumer niches of Shopping, Travel and Streaming. During this time he launched a dedicated reviews platform to test and compare the latest products. However, being a small cog in a giant machine meant that he wasn’t able to deliver on his vision. The reviews platform stagnated.

At the end of 2022, Nick decided to move on from Finder. He decided to try his hand at building his own reviews website. The result is BTTR.

Awards

BTTR is a new website, but it’s starting to make its mark.

In 2024 after its first full year of operation, it is a finalist in the IT Journalism Awards in the Best Independent Coverage category.

Our Promise

BTTR is fiercely independent. While we make money through affiliate partnerships and advertising, our product recommendations are always done as objectively as possible. In fact, our methodology for recommending the best products is always based on not just our own opinions, but those of other leading review sites as well.

About Nick Broughall

Nick has been reviewing products since 2002. His first media role was as the staff writer for T3 magazine in Australia. Here he learnt how to test the latest technology products and turn his experience into a review.

Since then, Nick has been the Australian editor of leading technology websites Gizmodo and TechRadar. He was also one of the co-founders of men’s lifestyle website EFTM. Most recently, he was the head of awards at Finder.

Nick has been a finalist for the Best Reviewer award at the ITJourno awards multiple times, and won the award in 2016.
