Aussie audio company BlueAnt’s latest product is a stunner. The BlueAnt Soundblade is a desktop soundbar that’s designed to sit underneath your monitor and deliver audio quality your laptop only dreams of achieving.

It’s a smart idea. At home you spend a veritable fortune on a big-screen TV and high-end surround sound audio system in the loungeroom. In the home office you get yourself a high-performing 4K monitor, but then listen to your audio through your laptop’s speakers, or a pair of Airpods.

The Soundblade is an elegant solution. It has a low profile and comes in a range of five different colours: Charcoal, white, blue, green and pink.

That compact framing contains some powerful audio specifications, though. Capable of 120W of peak power audio, the Soundblade uses a 80mm neodymium subwoofer , dual neodymium drivers, dual voice coils and single cone racetrack drivers to deliver high-impact 2.1 channel audio.

“With the launch of the Soundblade, we’re not just pushing the boundaries in desktop audio technology; we’re redefining them. Our aim was to create a product that not only provides our customers with an epic cinematic sound experience at their desktop but also seamlessly integrates into the modern lifestyle. We believe we’ve achieved that with Soundblade’s unmatched sound quality and its elegant, space-efficient design.”

Connectivity and controls

You can connect to the Soundblade in one of three ways: USB-C, Bluetooth 5.3 or AUX cable. It can connect effortlessly to PCs, Macs, plus game consoles like the PlayStation 5 and PlaySTation 4.

You can also connect it to your smartphone, either by Bluetooth or the USB-C cable. The 3.5mm AUX cable will let you use any other device as well if it has a 3.5mm output.

The Soundblade promises easy use with a one-touch control on the unit itself, plus an included remote control in the box.

It also has three audio equalisers built in for gaming, movies and music.

Pricing and availability

The BlueAnt Soundblade is available now from soundblade.com or Telstra’s online store. It has an RRP of $299 and is available in five colours.

We’ll be testing the BlueAnt Soundblade soon, so stay tuned for our review.
