PC gamers looking for a next-level display will be happy to hear that the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor from Samsung will be arriving in Australia this month.
Set to launch on July 24 2023 for an RRP of $2,699, the monitor features DisplayHDR True Black 400 and AI upscaling technology to achieve impressive picture quality.
The Odyssey OLED G9 is a behemoth, measuring 49 inches on the diagonal, with a 1800R curvature and a 5120 x 1440 resolution. The 32:9 aspect ratio allows for immersive ultrawide images, equivalent to two QHD screens side by side.
Samsung has also added in anew processor – the Neo Quantum Processor Pro – which can analyse images on the fly and automatically upscale the image to align the brightness and amplify the contrast intelligently.
The G9 supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and offers a 240Hz refresh rate, making images smooth while gaming.
The monitor itself also offers built-in stereo speakers, so you won’t need a pair of gaming headphones to enjoy your games to the fullest.
CoreSync and Core Lighting+ on the rear of the display will match the colours on the screen to create an immersive light on the wall behind the monitor, which improves the immersive experience.
Not just a monitor
While the Odyssey OLED G9 is primarily designed to be a gaming monitor, Samsung has also bundled in Smart TV apps, so you can use it as a display for watching TV, without a PC or connected device.
The Samsung Gaming Hub also connects to services like Xbox Game Pass and NVIDIA GeForce NOW so you can play games online without a connected console or PC.
Being a large, ultrawide monitor, you also get multitasking options. This means you can continue to play games while checking email or browsing the web, all from a single display.
The Odyssey OLED G9 will be available in Australia from 24 July 2023 for $2,699 (RRP) exclusively via the Samsung Online store.
