No matter how good your home coffee making skills are, it’s hard to create the same deliciously fresh experience you get when buying coffee from the local cafe.

A big part of that is the beans. Your local barista spends more time than you might think really understanding the subtle differences between different beans and the flavour you get from different roasts.

The De’Longhi Rivelia can’t necessarily give you that same depth of understanding, but it does let you swap between two different types of beans with an intuitive “Bean Switch System”. This lets you swap between two different types of beans effortlessly.

But choosing beans is only one part of the puzzle. De’Longhi has also created technology that suggests the right grind, dose and temperature for different bean types to help deliver the ideal cup of coffee.

“Rivelia is De’Longhi’s most advanced innovation to date, allowing Australians to explore the sensational flavours of fresh coffee beans and take their coffee routine to the next level.

“We believe in bringing authentic coffee experiences into the home and Rivelia reflects our dedication to helping people discover, comprehend and customise their coffee journey.”

Sarah Knox, ANZ Head of Marketing for De’Longhi.

Fully automated, yet customisable

Like the Eletta Explore I reviewed last year, the Rivelia offers four different personal profiles, so everyone in your home can have its own preferences.

The Rivelia takes it one step further though, with a “Coffee Routine” feature that remembers the different types of coffee you like to drink throughout the day. So if you like to kick off the day with an espresso, have a flat white with breakfast and a decaf in the afternoon, the 3.5-inch colour screen will prioritise those options when you go to make your coffee.

You can create 16 custom coffee drinks as well, if you like to experiment.

Pricing and availability

The De’Longhi Rivelia is available now with a Recommended Retail Price of $1,799. It comes in three colours: Arctic White, Onyx Black and Pebble Grey.

To celebrate the launch and encourage Australians to switch the way they coffee, shoppers who purchase Rivelia will also receive a limited-time gift with purchase – a curated collection of 4 x 250g Speciality Coffee Beans from Criteria Coffee, as well as a Vacuum Canister valued at $160.00.

The promotion runs until May 12, and naturally T&Cs apply.
